CORCORAN, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Police pulled over a suspected DUI driver and found cocaine and a pistol in his vehicle, according to the Corcoran Police Department.

Police say officers made a traffic stop around 3:30 a.m. on July 19 at the 1300 block of North Avenue in Corcoran. The driver was stopped for a moving violation, according to officials.

Police say the driver was 23-year-old Ismael Sandoval Abonce. The Corcoran man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to officials.

After Sandoval’s arrest, officers searched his vehicle and found a loaded 9mm Smith and Wesson M&P Pistol hidden under the front passenger seat, according to police. Officials say officers also found 5.4 grams of cocaine on Abonce and a BuzzBallz in the vehicle.

Abonce was taken to Kings County Jail on charges of carrying a concealed gun in a vehicle, possession of illegal drugs, DUI, and other firearm violations, according to officers.
