ALAMEDA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Fresno teenager who ran away nearly a year and a half ago was located for the third time in Alameda County, the sheriff’s office confirmed Tuesday evening.

The search for 16-year-old Nicholas Telles came to an end Tuesday afternoon after the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office reported he was found around 4 p.m. by the Alameda County Probation Department.

Nicholas Telles, missing from Fresno since November 2024.

Deputies say Telles was classified as a runaway after being last seen about a year and a half ago when he was 14 years old. His mother told YourCentralValley.com that her son had met an older man on a gay dating app and was gone.

That man was arrested, according to investigators, and the case was later dropped after he claimed Nicholas told him he was 18.

Before Tuesday, the 16-year-old was located in an Oakland hotel. Detectives reported that his mother took him to a location to get his things before he ran away again.

The Sheriff’s Office is working with the teenager’s mother to determine the next best course of action.
