FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man who was shot by a deputy in Fresno County on Tuesday evening was not from Fresno County, according to the sheriff’s office.
On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office identified him as 24-year-old Juwan Priddie of Santa Maria.

According to deputies, he remains in critical condition from gunshot wounds sustained after attacking a deputy and threatening two pairs of homeowners.
The first pair reported that he had broken into their home near Olive and Cornelia avenues around 6:30 p.m.
He was gone by the time deputies arrived, but while they were there, dispatch received calls from nearby Garfield and Shields avenues reporting a man threatening to kill a pair of homeowners.
Law enforcement arrived soon after, but they say the situation escalated into a physical fight. The deputy fired three shots, striking Priddie and ending the fight.
Juwan remains in the hospital; he has been electronically booked into jail with a bail of $100,000.
