FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was rescued after falling into a canal in Fresno Saturday evening, the Fresno Police Department announced.

Police say just before 7 p.m., they responded to a report of a man floating in a canal about half a mile north of Franklin Avenue and Broadway Street.

Investigators believe the man fell into the canal.

Officers say, with the assistance of Fresno Fire, he was rescued and transported to a local hospital.

He has since been resuscitated and remains in critical condition.
