FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was killed Friday after his car went airborne, flipped over and landed on Highway 99 following two crashes near Ventura Avenue in Fresno, according to the Fresno Police Department.

Police said the crash happened around 11:28 a.m. when a vehicle traveling east on Ventura Avenue struck another vehicle at Ventura Avenue and B Street. The driver did not stop after the collision and continued east, police said.

Officers said the same vehicle then struck a second vehicle at Ventura Avenue and C Street.

Police said the vehicle then traveled onto the embankment near Highway 99. The impact caused the vehicle to veer right, go airborne, flip over and land on the freeway.

The vehicle came to rest on Highway 99 near the center divider. The driver died at the scene.
