MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man who was sought by deputies in Madera County was arrested after asking a homeowner on Tuesday to make a call for him, deputies announced Tuesday.
Just before 7 a.m., deputies say they responded to a report of a suspicious person in the area of Mudge Ranch Road.
Investigators say the homeowner reported a man matching the description of a wanted suspect was at their front door asking them to make a phone call on his behalf.
After saturating the area, deputies reported locating the suspect, identified as Kevin Marquez, hiding behind a brush pile across the roadway with the assistance of K9 Obie.
Deputies reported on Monday Marquez was sought after allegedly riding a stolen ATV and fleeing from pursuing deputies.

The sheriff’s office reported Marquez was ultimately taken into custody without incident and booked into the Madera County Jail.
