VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man who hung up after dialing 9-1-1 triggering a police response to his home, ended up being arrested, Visalia police said.
The Visalia Police Department received the abandoned emergency call just after 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Officers went over to the home in the 800 block of South Garden Street, near Bridge Street and Tulare Avenue, to investigate.
Once there, they said they found 39-year-old Jeffrey Downing, who didn’t want to allow them access to the property.
They learned he was on parole for homicide, which made his home subject to a parole search.
Police said they located methamphetamine, evidence they believed to be consistent with narcotics sales, a .38-caliber revolver, and live ammunition.
They also found 28-year-old Sonya Munoz at the home and said she had four active no-bail narcotics warrants out for her arrest.
Both Downing and Munoz were arrested and booked into the Tulare County Pre-Trial Facility.
Investigators said Downing was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition, parole violation, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of a controlled substance while armed, and maintaining a drug house.
Munoz was booked for her four outstanding no-bail narcotics warrants.
