Young women across Madera County will soon have a new opportunity to compete for scholarships, develop leadership skills, and serve their communities through a newly enhanced Miss Madera County Scholarship Program.

The Chowchilla-Madera County Fair has announced a new partnership with the Miss America Organization and the Miss California Organization, bringing the local program into the official Miss America system. Fair officials say the partnership expands opportunities for participants while continuing a long-standing Madera County tradition.

The inaugural pageant under the new partnership is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Chowchilla-Madera County Fairgrounds.

Applications are now being accepted for:

  • Miss Madera County
  • Miss Madera County’s Teen
  • Madera County Minis

According to fair officials, the program is designed to help participants develop leadership abilities, communication skills, community service experience, and professional confidence while providing scholarship opportunities.

“Our vision is to create a program that celebrates the accomplishments, leadership, and potential of young women across Madera County while honoring the rich traditions of both the Miss America Organization and the Chowchilla-Madera County Fair,” said Natalie Worstein, Executive Director of the Chowchilla-Madera County Fair. “We are excited to provide meaningful scholarship opportunities and a platform where participants can grow into confident leaders who make a positive impact in our communities.”

Assistant Directors Keryn Landavazo and Kirsten Grissom will help oversee the program and guide contestants throughout the competition process.

Officials are encouraging eligible participants from throughout Madera County to apply and are also seeking sponsors, volunteers, and community support as preparations begin for the December pageant.

Additional information about eligibility, applications, sponsorship opportunities, and event details is available at ChowchillaFair.org and through the program’s Instagram page, @missmaderacountyorg.
