VISALIA, Calif (KSEE/KGPE) – A former Mt. Whitney High School employee was sentenced to five years in state prison on Wednesday for lewd acts with teens, according to the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office.
40-year-old Dejaun Jones committed crimes against two female victims who were both 15 years old, according to officials. Jones committed these crimes while working as a campus employee in Visalia between September 2022 and April 2023.

Officials say the crimes included showing obscene videos of himself to the girls, touching the victims inappropriately, and asking for and obtaining inappropriate pictures of one of the teens.
Jones pleaded guilty to all criminal charges on May 6. The charges included 11 felony counts of lewd act on a child, showing pornography to a minor, and contact with a minor for sexual offense, according to the district attorney’s office.
Officials say Jones has to register as a sex offender for life, and the Tulare County Superior Court placed a 10-year criminal protective order against him.
