Travelers heading to Yosemite National Park—and mountain residents making the drive to Fresno—will soon have another place to fuel up, grab a meal and make a quick stop along Highway 41.

Madera County will celebrate the grand opening of the new Yosemite Travel Center at Tesoro Viejo with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, July 2, at 9:30 a.m. The public is invited to attend.

Located at the southeast corner of Highway 41 and Tesoro Viejo Boulevard, the new travel center features a 76 fuel station with six pumps providing 12 fueling positions for gasoline, diesel and ethanol, along with a neighborhood market, Jamba Juice and a drive-through car wash.

County officials say the project is intended to serve both the rapidly growing Tesoro Viejo community and the millions of visitors who travel Highway 41 to Yosemite National Park each year.

The travel center represents another milestone in the continued commercial growth of the Highway 41 corridor. In recent years, Tesoro Viejo has expanded rapidly with new homes, schools and public services, and additional retail and commercial development is expected to follow.

Developer Peter Singh previously said the goal is to provide high-quality services for local residents while also giving Yosemite travelers another convenient place to stop before heading into the mountains.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 2, and is open to both the media and the public.
