FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man wanted for an out-of-town bank robbery crashed into a Fresno driver while trying to evade a police helicopter Friday night.
Police tried pulling him over near Golden State Boulevard and Highway 99 around 9 p.m., but say he fled.
They initiated a pursuit but called it off for “public safety concerns.” According to police, he was driving over 90 mph and running red lights.
Instead, they called out their helicopter, which they say tracked him driving randomly throughout the city. His drive, however, came to an end after running a red light at the intersection of Peach and McKinley avenues near the Fresno Yosemite International Airport and crashing into another driver.
Fortunately, no one was hurt, and police were able to take him into custody.

His identity was not released, but according to police, he is about 30 years old.
