Motorists traveling through Mariposa County next week should plan for delays as the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) conducts a series of construction and maintenance projects on State Routes 49, 132, and 140.
According to Caltrans, one-way traffic controls, overnight lane restrictions, and intermittent traffic breaks are scheduled throughout the week beginning Sunday, June 7.
State Route 49
The following traffic impacts are planned along SR-49:
- One-way traffic control from Tiptop-Usona Road to Stumpfield Mountain Road for utility work on Tuesday, June 9, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Overnight one-way traffic control from Miller Road to South State Route 140 for electrical work beginning Sunday, June 7, through Friday, June 12, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Intermittent highway closures (traffic breaks) from Bagby Vista Point to Shilling Road for utility work beginning Monday, June 8, through Wednesday, June 10, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- One-way traffic control from Penon Blanco Road to Shilling Road for traffic signal work beginning Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
State Route 132
- One-way traffic control just west of the SR-49/Coulterville junction for drainage work beginning Monday, June 8, through Friday, June 12, from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
State Route 140
The following work is planned on SR-140:
- Overnight one-way traffic control from Miller Road to Fourth Street for electrical work beginning Sunday, June 7, through Thursday, June 11, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- One-way traffic control at Fourth Street for sign and banner work on Monday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- One-way traffic control from South Incline Road to Foresta Road for construction work beginning Tuesday, June 9, through Wednesday, June 10, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Caltrans advises motorists to expect delays of approximately 5 to 10 minutes and to use alternate routes whenever possible. Work schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, traffic incidents, equipment availability, or other construction-related factors.
