FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 27-year-old man was arrested after police say he tried to pick up a 12-year-old girl in a navy-blue van as she was walking to school in Fresno.
According to the Fresno Police Department, 27-year-old Elias Panzo Temoxtle was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly tried to speak to the 12-year-old victim earlier that morning.
Officers say Temoxtle was driving a navy-blue van and pulled up next to the 12-year-old girl as she was walking along the road in the area of West Weldon Avenue and North Channing Way. He then positioned the van in front of the girl and encouraged her to hand him her cell phone, which she did. Temoxtle then put his cell phone number in the girl’s phone. He left after blowing the girl a kiss and told her he would return later to pick her up.
After that encounter, police say the 12-year-old girl continued to school and reported the incident. Officers were able to identify the suspect as 27-year-old Elias Panzo Temoxtle and arrested him on Thursday evening.

Temoxtle was arrested on suspicion of distributing or showing pornography to a minor and false imprisonment.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, police say.
