
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two teens were shot Saturday night, and one died shortly after, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office said.
Around 9 p.m., a police officer with Farmersville PD heard what he thought to be gunfire coming from the Linnel Camp area on Mariposa Street in Visalia.
Along with Farmersville police, TCSO deputies responded to the scene and found two teenage boys suffering from gunshot wounds.
Deputies said first responders determined that one of the teens was unresponsive and initiated CPR.
Both victims were transported to an area hospital, where one died from his injuries. Authorities said the other is expected to recover.
Detectives with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and have taken over the investigation.
The sheriff’s office has not released any further information on the incident.
