HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – What was discovered during a minor traffic stop in Hanford led to the arrest of two men, the Hanford Police Department announced on Tuesday.

Hanford Police say just before midnight on Feb. 26, they conducted a stop on a vehicle in the 9000 block of East Lacey Boulevard, near 9th Avenue, for a minor vehicle code violation.

Officers say during contact, the driver, 35-year-old Jose Alfredo Aguirre, gave consent to search the vehicle.

Investigators reported finding a loaded 9mm Glock 19 handgun that was not registered to either Aguirre or his passenger, 41-year-old Raul Ramon Gonzales. Officers also reported finding Gonzales in possession of a usable quantity of meth and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, police say both were arrested on charges of weapons-related offenses. Gonzales was booked on additional charges of possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
