Beloved swim school in Clovis 'is officially closed'

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A beloved Clovis swim school announced its closure on Friday, following what management described as “an incredible journey.”

Bullfrog Swim School posted on social media that the school had shut its doors, thanking the community for “allowing us to serve your families and be part of your stories.” The swim school’s owner, Darla Price, passed away in October 2025.

After an incredible journey, our swim school is officially closed.

The Bullfrog Swim School site was previously home to the Jan Thomas Swim School. Jan Thomas’ retirement and the sale of the property led to the Bullfrog Swim School opening in the location in early 2020. The closure of Bullfrog Swim School is set to allow another swim school to take up residence at the 1849 N Willow Avenue facility.

America’s Kids Swim School, which already operates at the nearby 1205 N Willow Avenue, announced on Thursday that its instructors will continue private swim lessons at the former Bullfrog Swim School’s outdoor pools starting April 6.

“Our sincere desire is to carry forward the feeling you originally fell in love with,” wrote America’s Kids President Lori Klatt. “The warmth, the familiarity, the encouragement, and the excellence in instruction that defined this location. We know how special this place is to your families, and our wish is to provide the community with what you have always valued here.”

Klatt added that their team looks forward to “honoring Darla’s legacy by continuing to serve this community with professionalism, dedication, and heart.”
