Woman airlifted after head-on crash in Mariposa County

MARIPOSA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A woman was severely injured after a head-on crash in Mariposa County Wednesday afternoon.

CHP says the woman was driving on Highway 49 just east of Wass Road around 3 p.m. when it happened.

The status of the other driver and passengers has not been released, but CHP says the woman was flown to CRMC with major injuries.

This is at least the second head-on collision in the area. In January 2019, an 83-year-old man died after crashing head-on into a garbage truck around the same curve.
