HANFORD, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The teen who was killed after being shot at a Hanford apartment complex has been named by family.
“It is with unbearable heartbreak that we are raising funds for expenses in the untimely loss of Ayden Anthony Wyatt,” a GoFundMe created by his grandmother, Tanya O’Daniel, reads.
“Ayden was a gentle giant,” she wrote. “The kind of young man whose smile could light up a room without him even trying. He had a soft heart, a warm laugh, and a presence that made people feel safe.”

The 17-year-old was at the Casa Del Sol Apartments the morning of Jan. 30 when shots rang out.
Three suspects, 25-year-old Pasha Evins, 19-year-old Famous Hinton, and 25-year-old Elise Hernandez, were arrested in connection with the crime, a crime that has left a family torn.
“To me, he was my hamburglar, my boy, my joy,” Tanya said. “He was deeply loved, and his absence has left a silence we are still trying to understand.”
Tanya says he got his nickname when he was about four or five years old.
“I took him to the park, and there were several kids out there playing, so I was calling his name, and about six other kids named Ayden ran to me,” she recalled. “I just figured that would be the best way to find him in a crowd of Aydens.”
But while happy memories live on, she says the pain is all too real.
“It’s such a long and painful story, and obviously, I can’t talk about a lot of it as of yet, but I just want everybody to know the gentle giant that Ayden was,” she said. “He was my heartbeat, the oldest of five. All 6,349 days mattered.”
Anyone who would like to help lay Ayden to rest can donate to his GoFundMe here.
