Purpose Of The Meeting

The Committee will consider whether Mariposa County should join the State Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program. To participate in that program, the County must adopt amendments to the Mariposa County Vehicle Abatement Code, including revisions to Section 8.32. Joining the State program could provide the County with additional tools and state-level support to remove abandoned and derelict vehicles more efficiently, reduce public hazards and blight, and recover abatement costs when eligible.

Public Participation

As required by law, members of the public will have an opportunity to directly address the Code Compliance Advisory Committee and the Board of Supervisors regarding the proposed code amendments and the County’s potential enrollment in the State program. Those attending by telephone will be given the opportunity to speak during the public comment period; callers should be prepared to identify themselves by name before addressing the Committee.

Accessibility & Accommodations

If you require reasonable accommodations to participate in this meeting (for example, a language interpreter or disability-related assistance), please contact the Clerk of the Board or the Code Compliance Office as soon as possible. Contact details and additional meeting information can be found on the Mariposa County website. The County will make every effort to provide accommodations with adequate notice.

For Additional Information

For questions about the agenda or how to participate, please consult the county website or contact the Clerk of the Board or the Code Compliance Office at 209-966-5151. The public is encouraged to attend and participate in this important discussion about improving public safety and neighborhood quality of life through more effective vehicle abatement measures.
