RED FLAG WARNING IN Nearby ZONES 283 EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM PDT THIS EVENING DUE TO SCATTERED DRY THUNDERSTORMS. ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS FROM LOW RH AND ERRATIC OUTFLOW WINDS FROM VICINITY THUNDERSTORMS IN THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING.
Increasing chances for isolated and scattered thunderstorms today and Tuesday during the afternoon and evening hours across the higher terrain around Trinity County. Mostly dry storms and dry fuels will combine to generate a high risk of new fire starts. Though storms are most likely in Trinity, isolated storms are possible as far south as Northern Lake County and as far west as Highway 96 in Humboldt. Gusty and erratic outflow from thunderstorms could reach as high as 50 mph. Though 0.4 to 0.8 inches of rain is possible in storm centers, lightning may hit dry fuels far from the rain. Similar thunderstorms conditions are possible Tuesday though more uncertain.
