MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was killed late Sunday night after crashing into a tree just after leaving Highway 99.
CHP says they arrived on scene to find the car totaled and on its roof.
According to officers, the driver was heading down Highway 99, just north of Madera Avenue, when he veered off the roadway, onto the west shoulder, and up an embankment.

The car began to spin out of control and hit a mature tree before finally coming to a rest on its roof, officers say. The impact was on the driver’s side.
His identity has not been released, but CHP says he was 32 years old.
The crash is still under investigation, but officers believe alcohol was a factor in this crash.
